Phlebotomy Gets a Hand Again

February 17th, 2012

You know how actors say “break a leg”; I wonder what words of encouragement phlebotomists use. Do they pat each other on the butt like athletes after each successful tear free blood draw or do they come together at the end of the day in a circle to talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the day’s events. Or are phlebotomists quiet and contained and they don’t do anything to acknowledge their greatness?

It seems as if someone who studies phlebotomy would have some inner office code for encouraging accurate and high quality professionalism. Although maybe I have it all wrong. Maybe they require no extra accolades because all the accolades a phlebotomists ever needs is the look of no pain on the face of (her) his patient. If the phlebotomist knows the patient will leave feeling less scared than when they first arrived, then it’s a job well done.

When is It a Good Time to Rent College Books

February 11th, 2012

college textbooksWe have been searching for college textbooks for several years now and we have come up with a formula that has served us well. We hope that it will work as well for you as it did us. Number 1 we never purchased new textbooks unless it was the last resort. Before we would purchase a new textbook we would search all the textbook rental sites online to see if they had or could get a hold of that book. We always tried to purchase used textbooks and the first place we always searched was Amazon. If we could not find it at Amazon we would check out Chegg because we had great experiences with them, but if we could find them there then we continued to search down the list until we found a site that had them. If we couldn’t find that used book our second to last resort was to rent the book. This is much cheaper than purchasing a new book and then trying to resell it. As you can see, renting textbooks is our second favorite option. Follow this formula and save yourself a lot of money.

The Increasing Need for Physical Therapy Schools

February 8th, 2012

Physical therapy is a growing health sector, helping people with different health conditions, especially those with musculo-skeletal disorders to regain total use of their limbs, or at least get better in many ways. To be part of such a dynamic profession, you will need to get yourself enrolled in one of the top physical therapy schools.

It is easiest to search for these schools online. Your guide should be the program that you want to get into, the particular specialisation, and the location where you live, or the school that is closest to you. Once you pick out either the Physical Therapy (PT) or Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), select a school that the finances are suitable to you. Complete a request form and then begin your dream career.

The school you choose should also meet your lifestyle and needs. You can often decide to choose a physical therapy school that is completely online, or one that uses both online and campus based learning.

Continuing Education: Fashion Designers and Floral Designers

November 9th, 2011

Want to learn more about continuing education for designers? The design field offers several career opportunities and specialties for interested and talented individuals. This field encompasses fashion, interior, landscape, flora, graphic, and industrial design. These programs are usually offered at art schools, trade schools, colleges, universities, and design institutions. Fashion designers are usually only required to complete at least a two year long associate’s degree to become a fashion designer. However, a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design is available and is definitely more desirable. Bachelor’s degrees can be obtained from several art school, college, or university. Coursework for this will usually include studies on CAD, textile design, marketing, accessory design, garment manufacturing, and pattern cutting. However, floral designers in general do not need to complete any degree, but earning certification from community colleges or related institutions can be very helpful and insightful. These programs usually consist of training encompassing weeks or months. Floriculture may possibly be offered at the associate’s or bachelor’s levels. Topics may include studies on cutting and taping, flower care, flower arrangements, and ribbon tying.
